Friday 13 May in the late afternoon, these unidentified Metalic Green Bodied bronze winged damselflies, appeared in the meadows that border the canal Nantes à Brest at Bon Repos St Gelven France.

Nuthatch nesting in a hole in a wall.

One first catches a glimpse, out of the corner of the eye, but who saw who first?

Art Courses and Short stays in Central Brittany

 The Lock House at Bon Repos

 Four painting and photography courses during August 2011 in Central Brittany.

Courses with accommodation from Monday to Friday.
In the surroundings of the abbey "Bon Repos" on the banks of the Nantes to Brest canal, close to Lake Guerlédan, in a landscape of forest and moor.
Four courses are proposed by professional artists, accommodation is provided in the converted lock house.

Paint on site and discover the diversified landscapes of the Quénécan forest, the Nantes to Brest canal, the Liscuis moors and its megaliths, the mellowed stones of the  Abbey "Bon Repos"
Begin, develop and master the art of watercolour painting in a convivial and warm-hearted atmosphere.

"In Corot's footsteps"
With : Peter JOHNSON, accomplished photographer and artist.
Follow Corot's (1796-1875) trace through a lens. Photograph the painter's environment and share his perception of the different landscapes.

Across moors, heaths and the Argoat forest, discover the compositions, lights and atmospheres that inspired Jean Baptiste COROT and work on the pictorial language by interpreting them with your camera.

An understanding of the basics (the control of light using aperture, shutter speed and ISO.)

Creativity, from an understanding of the camera's more elaborate functions

Discover the different creative possibilities and technological necessities of post processing techniques

Tom TRANKLIN (stage 1) et Sylviane AYME (stage 2), artistes peintres aquarellistes professionnels.
Invitation à peindre sur le motif  " les pieds dans l'eau ", à découvrir les paysages variés de la forêt de Quénécan, du canal de Nantes à Brest, des landes du Liscuis et de ses mégalithes, les vieilles pierres de l'abbaye de Bon-Repos…
Un enseignement qui vous propose de vous initier, de progresser et maîtriser l'aquarelle, dans un cadre convivial et chaleureux.

PEINDRE A L'ACRYLIQUE

Stage 3 : du lundi 15 août au vendredi 19 août
Intervenant : Marcel LOUARGANT, artiste peintre.
Peindre, c'est d'abord poser son regard sur le monde.

Découvrir la peinture à l'acrylique ou perfectionner sa technique lors de séances de travail sur le motif et en atelier, c'est aussi une occasion de découvrir (ou redécouvrir ) le riche patrimoine paysager, historique et culturel, les ambiances et les lumières du centre Bretagne qui ont inspiré de nombreux peintres (Corot, Gauguin et bien d'autres.)

Tout public, tous niveaux.

PHOTOGRAPHIE NUMERIQUE
 
Stage 4 : du lundi 22 août au vendredi 26 août
« Sur les chemins de COROT »
Intervenant : Peter JOHNSON, artiste photographe et plasticien.
Sur les chemins de COROT avec son appareil photo. Prise de vues dans l’environnement et l’esprit du peintre.
A travers les landes, la campagne et la forêt de l’Argoat, retrouver les sites, les thèmes, les lumières et les ambiances chers à Jean Baptiste COROT et les traduire à notre tour par la photo numérique et le langage de l’image.
 
Travail des techniques de base, (cadrage, lumière, profondeur de champ…)
 
Création d’images artistiques en utilisant les fonctions élaborées de l’appareil photo numérique.
 
Aperçu des perspectives de contrôle et de traitement de l’image par ordinateur

Lightroom 3 export to Pixelpost

I've been using Adobe-Photoshop-Lightroom 2 with the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Export Plugin v2.0.2 by Jaywilliams to single click export my posts to Pixelpost. Last weekend I upgraded to Lightroom 3 and have been trying it out before removing Lightroom 2 from my system, but last night while trying to post with version 3 I received an error message. A quick search on the internet  found a useful post in French from the written by Jean-Christophe Courte at the Ubanbike

In short he has tracked down an upgrade.
Download and  unzip the package and follow the installation/upgrade instructions. Works like a dream.
