The Lock House at Bon Repos
Four painting and photography courses during August 2011 in Central Brittany.
Courses with accommodation from Monday to Friday.
In the surroundings of the abbey "Bon Repos" on the banks of the Nantes to Brest canal, close to Lake Guerlédan, in a landscape of forest and moor.
Four courses are proposed by professional artists, accommodation is provided in the converted lock house.

2 COURSES
With : Tom TRANKLIN (Course 1) and Sylviane AYME (Course 2), watercolour painters
Paint on site and discover the diversified landscapes of the Quénécan forest, the Nantes to Brest canal, the Liscuis moors and its megaliths, the mellowed stones of the Abbey "Bon Repos"
Begin, develop and master the art of watercolour painting in a convivial and warm-hearted atmosphere.
All levels welcome.

Whether you wish to begin acrylic painting or develop your technique whilst working on site or in a studio, come and appreciate Central Brittany’s rich legacy of history and culture, discover the atmosphere and light of it's splendid landscapes, inspiration for many painters of the past (Gauguin, Corot and many others…).

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
"In Corot's footsteps"
With : Peter JOHNSON, accomplished photographer and artist.
Follow Corot's (1796-1875) trace through a lens. Photograph the painter's environment and share his perception of the different landscapes.
Across moors, heaths and the Argoat forest, discover the compositions, lights and atmospheres that inspired Jean Baptiste COROT and work on the pictorial language by interpreting them with your camera.
An understanding of the basics (the control of light using aperture, shutter speed and ISO.)
Creativity, from an understanding of the camera's more elaborate functions
Discover the different creative possibilities and technological necessities of post processing techniques
